SRF Case Study
Industrial shredders for SRF solid recovered fuel and RDF refuse derived fuels prepared from non-hazardous wastes and utilised for energy recovery in incineration and co-incineration plants have been a core competence for Lindner Recyclingtech for the past twenty years.
Over the past ten years MachTech Services have been at the forefront of the supply chain for the SRF/RDF production industry with well over a hundred Lindner SRF/RDF Shredders in daily operation in the UK and Ireland. Mach Tech have worked in conjunction with almost all the major suppliers of turnkey waste to energy facilities, SRF/RDF producers and plant builders to provide the necessary shredding equipment for around 90% of all SRF/RDF shredding operations in the UK currently.
MachTechs relationship with this diverse customer base doesn’t end upon commissioning of our equipment, our own select team of engineers provide an unparalleled back-up service encompassing, routine maintenance, emergency call outs, repair, machine health assessments and spare parts supply.
For secondary shredding/granulation of pre-shredded materials with low extraneous content, the high-speed Lindner Komet range of single shaft shredders is utilised.
For pre-shredding prior to the granulation process, we recommend the low-speed Lindner Jupiter range of single shaft shredders.
The two-stage shredding system is mainly applied for processing of untreated domestic, industrial and commercial waste for the high volume production of solid recovered fuel.
On top of the market leading shredding capacities and overall build quality, Lindner also make a point of designing features that are proven to reduce maintenance downtime, maximizing operational time whilst providing a safe working environment for both operational and maintenance procedures.
Features that saw Lindner pick up a third Global CemFuels Award in February 2016 in Prague, in the category “Most innovative technology for the use of alternative fuels”.
Many manufacturers have made many bold statements about their SRF/RDF shredding equipment, most of which appear not to stand up to scrutiny. Here at MachTech/Lindner we operate in a different way, we won’t tell you what you want to hear, we will tell you what our machines can do, unlike the competition we will back up our claims with performance guarantees.
On top of the market leading shredding capacities and overall build quality, Lindner also make a point of designing features that are proven to reduce maintenance downtime, maximizing operational time whilst providing a safe working environment for both operational and maintenance procedures. One example being the virtually maintenance-free drive system. The University of Kassel validated the efficiency of the belt-drive system in 2015 and a conservative estimate is that this drive system has proven the technology with over 2,000,000 operational hours on machines fitted with this Lindner design.
